JobLens does not require an account to use it. Your saved job data is never sent to us. It stays in your own browser.
What stays local
- Saved jobs are stored in
chrome.storage.localin your browser profile. - CSV and spreadsheet (.xlsx) exports are generated locally and saved as files on your device.
- Job saving makes no remote network requests. Saved job records are never transmitted off your device.
Pro upgrade and payments
Buying JobLens Pro is the only feature that involves a third party:
- When you choose to upgrade, the Upgrade page opens a secure Stripe checkout page for a one-time payment. Your payment details are entered on Stripe and handled by Stripe. JobLens never sees or stores card information. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- After payment you receive a license key. When you activate it, the extension contacts the JobLens license server (a Cloudflare Worker) to confirm the purchase. The only data sent in this request is the license key, and optionally the email you choose to enter.
- To keep Pro accurate (for example, if a payment is refunded), the extension re-checks the license periodically, on startup and roughly every 12 hours. This sends only the license key. If the device is offline, the last verified status is kept.
- Your saved jobs are never included in any payment or license request.
The license server stores only what is needed to validate a purchase: the license key, the customer email and Stripe identifiers, and the license status. It does not receive or store any job data.
Security protections
- Page text is sanitized before storage.
- Unsafe
javascript:apply links are rejected. - CSV formula injection is escaped before export.
- Malformed JSON-LD does not block fallback extraction.
- No remote scripts or
evalare used. - License checks use HTTPS; the server returns a signed token so cached status is tamper-evident.
Chrome Web Store data disclosure
In Chrome's data-disclosure categories, JobLens collects:
JobLens does not collect health information, authentication credentials, personal communications, location, web history, or user activity (clicks, scrolling, or keystrokes). It does not sell user data, use it for purposes unrelated to the Pro purchase, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
